Calling all explorers! Dublin Zoo is inviting adventurers of all ages to discover the joys of species big and small through a series of fun and educational weekends this month, beginning this bank holiday weekend with prehistoric dinos, followed by a World Elephant Day celebration and an SSE Eco Explorer Weekend. During the month of August, expect fun-filled weekends including Dino Lego workshops and a chance to win a free annual pass for Dublin Zoo!
Dino Discovery Weekend
Dublin Zoo’s first ever Dino Discovery Weekend will take place this bank holiday weekend, from Saturday, August 5th to Monday, August 7th. The jam-packed agenda will include special Dino Lego Workshops taking place in Zoorassic World. Explorers at Dublin Zoo will be greeted by dinosaurs, exciting photo opportunities, fun tunes throughout the entire weekend and opportunities to have your face painted to fit in with the rawr-some creatures!
Special dinosaur keeper talks will be held in Zoorassic World to offer insights into the fascinating prehistoric world, and a team of Dublin Zoo volunteers look forward to sharing their dino facts with visitors of all ages.

World Elephant Weekend
On Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th, Dublin Zoo will celebrate World Elephant Day by bringing the much loved elephant keeper talks back for one weekend only. At the Kaziranga trail, expect plenty of arts and crafts, games and fun opportunities to explore inside Haughton House. Face painting will also be available for anyone who wants to join the herd!

SSE Eco-Explorer Weekend
Pookie, Dublin Zoo's sustainability ambassador, is inviting families and friends to visit Dublin Zoo on Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th for a series of interactive Eco-Explorer Experiences taking place from 1pm – 4pm at the Safari Tent.
Upon arriving at Dublin Zoo, an Eco-Ranger will issue your very own Pookie Passport, beginning the quest to collect all 10 stamps from Eco-Explorer Station Rangers around Dublin Zoo and learning important facts as you proceed through the Eco-Explorer Trail. Don’t forget to redeem your Pookie keyring once the challenge is complete, and enter to be in with a chance to win a free annual pass for Dublin Zoo!

By entering the Dublin Zoo August 2023 competition described below (a “Prize Draw”) you (the “Participant”) agree to be bound by these terms and conditions (the “Terms and Conditions”).

- The Prize Draw will open at 12pm (GMT) on 04th August and close at 14th August, 12pm (GMT) 2023 (the “Prize Draw Period”).
- There is 1 Prize available to be won in total. The winning participant will win 1 family pass to Dublin Zoo for 2 adults and 3 children (each a “Prize”).
- The Prize carries no cash value, is non-transferable, and may not be substituted by the winners.
- To enter, Participants must complete The Media Partner’s online entry form during a given week of the Prize Draw Period (“Entry”).
