Nothing holds more memory than food. There's something about getting the delightful smell of your favourite dish in the air, bringing on a flood of childhood nostalgia.

For me it's Easter. In our house, Easter meant family and family meant food. The whole day was a beautiful mess of chocolate cheeked smiles, hidden treats and sporadic squeezes from missed family members. The weather had FINALLY gotten around to warming up, meaning lighter jackets and lighter hearts as the world welcomed Spring in Ireland.

My crazy family was all over the place at Easter, rushing to mass, cleaning melted chocolate stains on pastel outfits and diffusing tension over stolen eggs after the annual hunt. On the day, the one perfection was the Easter Dinner.

Even more important than Christmas -  as my mam would say- the ‘good dishware’ was taken out and the table was set for royalty.  My Granny would have ordered the leg of Lamb in advance from her local butcher- with whom she was on first name terms- and cooked it to perfection. The aroma of roast veg and seasoning would fill the air as we all set down to feast!

These are the incredible boots I must fill this Easter, as I attempt to re-create the magic of my childhood. The ‘big shop’ is a little different for us these days. You don’t have to know a butcher by name to secure the best. Lidl will have me sorted this year with their Deluxe leg of Lamb! I will never be the cook my Granny was, but I will certainly be a contender for the best Easter meal, thanks to Lidl’s simple recipes and tips!

With so much to choose from when finding the perfect sides, veggies and desserts, the Deluxe range from Lidl is a godsend this Easter! I will also be turning to Lidl for other alternative options like turkey and ham, keeping everyone happy this Easter!

If like me, you have big boots to fill this Easter, you can find everything you need right here. Good luck mums, and Happy Easter!
