Epi-Care Free Mobile - Feedback

Hi mummypages,
I am one very happy mummy haven taken part in the epi-care free wrist band trial. The bubble wrap has come off my 14 year old son and he no longer has to wear a helmet, "as if". That's exactly how I felt it should be when I my son got diagnosed with epilepsy. We were pleased we knew what was wrong with him, but it absolutely terrified me. He had his first seizure in July this year and I have to tell you it scared the life out of me. For 3 weeks after that seizure I couldn't sleep, every little movement he made I jumped. Car journeys made me so nervous especially if it was just myself and him. The epi-care wrist band has changed all that and has made us feel more relaxed about my son doing teenage stuff on his own without me hiding behind a bush "just in case". Plus there is a sleepover coming up that I had no hesitation in saying yes to. Its a smart little gadget and the fact I know it will alert us if ben has a seizure is truly amazing.

Well the epi care free mobile is to be recommended! My son who is twelve has uncontrolled and unpredictable tonic clonic seizures...so basically we go around together like peas n carrots! He is a very regular kid when not having a 'seizure day' as we call it as they come in clusters. I would not be able to leave the room he was in on the bad days for fear I wasn't there when he had a biggie! With the epi care alarm I was able to be in any room in the house doing regular stuff, out in the garden and us both sleeping in our own beds! It was a new independence for both my son and I. It worked a charm after about 30 seconds of a seizure starting his phone contacted mine and told me he was having a seizure... Important stuff as after 5 minutes I have to give emergency medicine if his seizure doesn't stop (which can frequently be the case!)

Next year he starts secondary school and more independence will be required naturally. If he has a seizure away from me I love the feature that his phone will automatically answer on speaker during a seizure and I can talk to whomever might be in his company and advise them what to do and re assure them until the seizure ends. Also it sends me his precise GPS location! The App is easily installed to the sensor and phone (you must make sure you have a compatible phone) If you think this would help your situation... I say get one! :-)
