Designing your little one’s nursery is so exciting! Don’t get us wrong, there’s lots to think of when it comes to buying the essentials you need to make your nursery look great while also being functional, but it is such a special experience as well.
It may seem overwhelming to know where to start but we’ve made an easy-to-follow list with everything you need to create the perfect nursery for your new arrival.
Bed
Whether you're opting for a cot or a moses basket, safe-sleep is so important for newborns and you must ensure your baby is safe wherever they are sleeping.
Never keep toys, teddies, pillows or blankets in the same place your baby is sleeping as they can lead to suffocation.
Ensure the mattress they’re sleeping on is firm and properly fits the cot or basket. You'll only need a fitted sheet on the mattress and a sleepsuit or cellular blanket to keep your baby warm at night.
Changing Area
You will need a safe place to change your baby in the nursery. When buying changing mats, make sure they have raised edges to help prevent your baby from falling off if they start to roll while being changed.
Also buy a changing mat that can be easily wiped down to make cleaning quicker.
A full changing table is useful as you will have plenty of storage for changing items but a mat on its own is also suitable to use on the floor or flat surface.

Thermometer
Newborns are very sensitive to heat and the cold so a thermometer is necessary to keep an eye on the temperature of the nursery.

Feeding Station
