Is it teething time for your little one?

Women across the world are leading increasingly busy and stressful lifestyles. But no matter how overworked or stressed we are, we still want our skin to look happy, healthy and glowing.

Dr Terry, Global Skincare Expert for The Body Shop, explains that the number one question she gets from clients is how they can get healthy glowing skin.

Thankfully, as you will see, there is no need for expensive products or crazy regimes, just stick to Dr. Terry's advice and you'll have gorgeous skin in no time:

Why does it look dull in the first place?

In order to fix our tired skin, it is important to understand why it looks a little less than desirable. According to Dr. Terry, there are a number of reasons why your skin looks dull, from not using the right skincare regime, to pollution, extreme weather or poor diet. These affect the skin’s natural renewal system making it sluggish and less effective in producing healthy skin cells.

Why is Vitamin C important for glowing skin?

We all know that Vitamin C is a great nutrient for overall skin health, helping to maintain plump, moisturised skin. But as Dr. Terry explains, it also helps skin cell renewal and regeneration, revealing skin that feels smoother and looks more glowing. It is also a powerful antioxidant, fighting against free radicals.

Where should you get your Vitamin C from?

Dr. Terry explains that it’s best to supplement with topical application, as Vitamin C from food or drink is used up internally and the skin gets little benefit. Independent studies have shown that applying vitamin C topically helps skin appear visibly renewed and fights the signs of fatigue.

The Body Shop have a fantastic range of products enriched with Vitamin C such as their Glow Boosting Moisturiser and their Instant Glow Enhancer.

What else can I do to get a glow?

It’s not just about Vitamin C though, there are plenty of other things you can do to get a gorgeous glow:

1.  Use the right products.

2. Drink plenty of water.

3. Get enough quality sleep.

And remember, a happy mind = happy skin. Find a reason to laugh everyday – it will lift your spirits and your skin will follow.
