Michael Keane

Neuroscientist and Registered Psychologist

Dr. Michael Keane is a Neuroscientist and Registered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland, and founder of Ireland’s leading Neuroscience-led Psychology Service, Actualise. He has been accredited as All-Ireland Thought Leader in Neuroscience for his pioneering work in the area. At the Actualise Clinic, Dr Keane uses 3D brain function modelling to understand and treat issues such as ADHD, depression, trauma and anxiety, and his team of Clinical Psychologists also use this data in their assessments for ADHD. He is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and a Board Certified Neurofeedback Provider.


He is a former lecturer in Psychology at both NUI Galway and Dublin City University and former post-doctoral student at NUIG and Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience. He is also CEO of Cognifyx Europe, a behavioural science company based in Singapore.


Alongside his clinical work, he continues his academic work through research partnerships with TCD, St. James’s Hospital, TUSLA, NUI Galway, UCD and Maynooth University. He writes regularly for the mental health charity A Lust For Life, where is also a member of the Mental Health Advisory Board. He is also a reviewer for a number of academic journals, including Frontiers in Human Neuroscience, Neurobiology of Aging and the Journal of Caffeine Research.
