Going on a family holiday takes a lot of planning, especially when everyone has a different view of what they want to do while away.

Before you do make the final decision, make sure you consider the following things:

The cost

While the flights might be cheap, accommodation or the cost of eating could be expensive so make sure you consider all costs. A travel agent will usually include all costs in their final price but if you are booking online make sure you work out everything before you click purchase as it can all add up.

Age of your family

The age of your family should also be taken into consideration. While it shouldn’t stop you going on an adventure, there are vaccinations, school holidays to work around and enduring flights with a small child to consider.

How long you can go for

The length of time you have to be away is a major factor when considering location. There is no point going long haul if you’ll end up spending your week away battling jet lag.

The weather

The weather can play a huge role in where you go. If you have very small children you might want to avoid destinations with really high temperatures or you might want to go somewhere where you are guaranteed for it not to rain.
