When you become a parent you do all you can to keep your child happy and healthy, and it seems that this father is no different.

Working and living 730 miles away from his eight-month-old son, father-of-one Liu Haibin has only seen his youngster three times since his birth. So, in order to stay connected, the inventive dad went to extreme measures to ensure he doesn’t miss out on playing with his boy.

Building what he has called 'the world’s longest see-saw', the man from China now gets to play with his baby, even though he is so far away.

Liu built two identical see-saws in both cities and fitted each with motion sensors, and, with the help of the internet and remote synchronisation, he can now enjoy the game with his son.

Talking to CCTV News about his incredible project, Liu said: “I want to leave some good childhood memories for my boy. Hopefully he will remember when he grows up that his father has tried to make him happy.”

“Every time I think about my childhood, I remember my father coming home early to play with me on the see-saw. This memory always gives me strength, so I want to give my son memories that fill him with love,” he added.

According to the Daily Mail, his wife and young son will be joining him in Xiamen, where he lives, in three months.
