I was delighted to be selected and we thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Prior to this trial, I had heard of Glenhaven, a friend recommended the breaded goujons to me and once we tried them we only bought Glenhaven ones from then on. Knowing that Glenhaven frozen chicken is made from 100% Irish chicken appealed to me greatly when the product was first recommended to me.

 

The chicken was so tender, in all the products. I was particularly impressed with how tender it was in the Chinese style shredded chicken. Often shredded chicken can taste firm and rubbery as each piece is so thin but the quality of the chicken in the Glenhaven ones is exceptional.

 

We love the breaded goujon coating more than the battered coating. My 9 year old son loved the jalapeno cheese bites but said he would prefer if the coating was slightly thicker to balance out all the cheese.

 

The food is so easy to prepare. I cooked it in the airfryer and love that the instructions for doing so are on the packet. You will see from the photos some of the meals I prepared:

 

* warm chicken caesar salad
* shredded chicken, cheese balls, pasta, corn on the cob, cauliflower and brocolli
* chicken goujon salad wrap
* chicken balls with curry sauce and rice
 

It was extremely popular with the family. My 5 year old now asks if we are having a Glenhaven dinner each day. The Chinese style shredded chicken was our favourite, the flavour of the coating is particularly delicious.

The packaging is fine. I don't think is particularly eye catching, especially with the amount of white on the bag, it looks lost in the freezers as they are white on the inside too. Also, the contents of each bag are not distinctive enough so you really need to look and read what is in the bag to check you have chosen the correct one.

We would absolutely buy again. We will be using all the products we trialled again.

I would recommend, I have and I will. Some friends and family have tried some of the products in the last week based on my recommendation. One friend is disappointed that she is having difficulty sourcing the Jalapeno Cheese Bites.

I was delighted to be selected for the Glenhaven food trial. I had tried most of the products before and welcomed the chance to try new products too.

All my family really enjoyed trying the products. I especially liked the battered chicken balls which I made with rice and sweet and sour sauce.

 

My partner loved the jalapeño cheese bites. I was wary of these at first as I don't like very spicy food but they were quite tasty and just under my spice limit!

 

My 3-year-old is always a fan of the chicken dippers and goujons but enjoyed all of the products.I like the packaging for the products but it could perhaps have some more colour as its very white.

 

All the products were easy and fast to prepare.I used an airfryer and I like that instructions for airfryer are on the packaging as most frozen goods still don't do this. The products are all very convenient to make on busy days when you don't have much time to prepare meals but still want something nutritious and tasty. I would definitely buy all the products again and recommend them to family and friends.Please find attached photos of some of the meals I made using Glenhaven products (perfect after school snack using chicken dippers, crispy shredded chicken with rice and Katsu curry, chicken balls with rice and sweet and sour sauce, pizza with Southern fried chicken bites and chicken dippers spice bag).

 

Thanks so much for including us in this trial for Glenhaven – we loved it.
I had seen Glenhaven in the supermarket, but we hadn’t tried it yet, so it was really great to get the chance to try out the range.
We always have quick-go-to options available for dinner in our house, and I like to make sure they are as nutritious as possible. I was delighted to see that the Glenhaven range was made from 100% chicken, and made in Ireland. This is so important to me in terms of supporting local and Irish, but also ensuring that there aren’t extensive food miles.

We all enjoyed testing them out – the kids really liked to have them in wraps, and we also made them with rice, veg and curry sauce. Overall I have to say they are really tasty, the chicken was tender, and the coating was just right – not too think, or greasy.

We mostly prepared them using the air fryer, except for one of the evenings when we had them with wedges which we made in the oven, so while the oven was on we cooked the goujons in with them. Either way is very easy, with simple to follow instructions.

 

I would highly recommend the Glenhaven chicken range to other mums, they are super tasty and really easy to prepare.

We will buy again.
