This summer, Dundrum Town Centre sees the return of its Fundrum Family Festival in association with proud media partnership FM104. The event will run from the 14th - 19th July. This six-day complimentary festival is one that is not to be missed as visitors can expect to see an incredible line up of live acts such as the Dino Live Experience, family yoga and fitness classes, Jack Wise the Magician, Kealan Doyle with his Sea Horse Aquariums and many more.
These acts along with further interactive activities such as hip-hop classes with Rachel Fisher and Super Sensory classes for the little ones will take place from 10am – 5pm each day in Pembroke Square. For the first time, Dundrum Town Centre will host a sensory class for children with autism. The FM104 street team will be in attendance to bring music and joy over the weekend.
Sea Horse Aquariums – Back by popular demand, guests can expect a range of exciting and educational talks on marine life, plus the chance to get up close and personal with seahorses, clownfish, starfish and hermit crabs. If you visit Fundrum on Friday 14th, you may even meet the Seahorse Man himself, seahorse expert and marine biologist, Kealan Doyle.
Dino Live Experience - Meet and interact with amazingly life-like dinosaurs, Trixie the Giant T-Rex, Terry the Triceratops and Vinny the Velociraptor. You’ll learn some fun interesting facts about Dinosaurs and the Jurassic Era and everything is presented in a theatrical performance that will thrill and entertain kids while stimulating their imaginations.
Family Yoga and Fitness Classes - Begin the day as a family with some fun exercise classes courtesy of FFS Gym and Yoga with Manasi. Mats and equipment will be supplied for these outdoor events and don’t worry, there is a covered area in case of rain. A mindfulness session for kids will take place on Monday 17th.
Hip Hop Kids Dance Classes - These free 45-minute energised classes are led by dancer Rachel Fisher and promise great music and great atmosphere.
Baby Super Sensory - Specifically designed from birth, to aid your child's development, the classes are packed with an incredible variety of sounds, smells, sights, textures, music, dance, singing and more. This is a magical, mesmerising and memorable activity for you and your baby or child. There will also be a class on Tuesday 18th for young children with autism called ‘SENSEable Tots’. The class aims to engage children with hands-on activities that allow them to explore and experience the world for themselves.
Jive Giant Board Games – These life-size games are not to be missed; all your favourite board games made giant! Watch their imagination soar as they dive into these larger-than-life games.
Bubble Disco - Get your dancing shoes on! The Bubble Disco is on daily - you do not want to miss out! Lots of tunes and bubbles, this is fun for all ages. There might even be a céilí.
Jack Wise The Magician - This popular magician is sure to dazzle both adults and children with his mindreading tricks and entertaining card skills.
World of Soil Exhibition - Discover the importance of soil and its role in sustaining life on our planet. The World of Soil Exhibition is a fun and educational experience for all ages. Come and discover the secrets of the soil with Airfield Estate at Fundrum Family Festival.
Fundrum is the ultimate free family day out this summer, combining enjoyable exercise, entertainment and interactive activities that all ages will enjoy. Visitors will also have the opportunity to relax on Pembroke Square where there is ample outdoor seating available to enjoy take away food from a wide range of restaurants. Restaurants in the Centre will get involved with Fundrum Family Festival by offering family dining deals, these include Presto, Donnybrook Fair and Jamie’s Italian to name a few.
