The BBC News have reported that Sainsbury's decided to rename their tiger bread giraffe bread after Lily's letter (below) had questioned why they named the bread tiger, when it looked more like a giraffe.
The letter, originally sent in May 2011 had gained some interest at the time when Lily's mum posted it on her blog, but re-emerged last week, and created huge interest, so much so that Sainsbury's gave in and on Tuesday, giraffe bread went on sale, with a 'wait and see' promised from the supermarket chain. Sainsbury's have reported that the then Manager, Chris King has left the store and gone back to university to study to be a shool teacher.
We quite like Lily's mum's reaction to all the fuss, which she writes about on her blog here, and we definitely like her idea about a letter to Ferrari as soon as her son is old enough!

There's something quite special about a letter from a 3½ year old, written phonetically in her 3½ year old speech, sent to a huge supermarket chain like Sainsbury's.
There's something even more special when the manager of that store sends a reply to that 3½ year old. Kudos to Chris King for taking the time. Customer service at its very best we think.
