About: Hook Lighthouse is the oldest, operational lighthouse in the world. Every Lighthouse has a certain magic and mystic attached to it, however Hook is truly something special.

Hook Lighthouse is 800 years old and there are guided tours available of the lighthouse tower. You can climb the 115 steps to the amazing views from the balcony. Several family festivals and events take place at the lighthouse, including Maritime Matters Festival on the May bank holiday weekend, the Pirate Festival in July, a series of Summer Lectures, Heritage week Vintage Day, Ghostly Tours at Halloween, themed cookery demonstrations, historical re-enactments, charity fundraisers, and themed art workshops.

If all that wasn’t enough, there is also a gift shop selling nautical-themed gifts, and a café where you can get homemade soup, sandwiches, various seafood options, and fresh scones and cakes from the bakery.
