The Swedish Furniture store made the decision after receiving reports of children getting entangled in the canopies.
Ikea spokeswoman, Ylva Magnusson said some children had sustained minor injuries as a result of the canopies.
"However there is no child that has had permanent injuries (but) as a safety measure we are recalling the products."
The company have asked customers who have bought the canopies to return them to their nearest Ikea store for a full refund.
"We apologise for any possible inconvenience this may cause, but safety is always the highest priority for Ikea."
