We have seen footage of babies born en caul, and even photos of women delivering their own babies via C-section – but we have never seen anything like the following.
A video has been released showing a baby being born via Caesarean, while still inside its amniotic sac.
The footage, which was shared by the Birth Without Fear Facebook group, documents every detail of the process and is amazing people all over the world.
It begins with the doctors pulling the sac out, with the baby still wriggling inside. Then, with the baby’s face clearly visible through it, the team very gently bursts the sac to release him or her.
Needless to say, the phenomenon – said to occur in every one-in-80,000 births – has blown people away and gone viral.
Indeed, in under 24 hours, the video has racked up almost 850,000 views!
“I can’t help but watch Caesarean-section videos and feel like a badass for surviving this. What an exhausting, painful, terrifying and beautiful 32 hours that was,” wrote one mother, while countless others branded it ‘amazing’.
