Áine McKenna is currently the artist in residence at DAC on the Making It 13 programme, with Craft Northern Ireland.
Making It is a 2-year business incubation programme, which places practitioners working in craft and applied arts into host organisations throughout Northern Ireland. Makers on the programme have the opportunity to develop and expand their practice to establish a sustainable and dynamic craft business.
Following a degree in Fine and Applied art from University if Ulster Áine went on to do a Masters in Ceramic Design at Staffordshire University in the heart of the potteries, Stoke on Trent and later worked for Royal Stafford/Poole pottery specialising in surface pattern design.
