Today, March 21 is World Down Syndrome Day — a poignant day for so many families around the world.
To celebrate the day and help raise funds for the hugely important services that The Down Syndrome Centre provides families in Ireland, baby clothing brand BabyBoo.ie have joined forces with Gina and Karol of ‘The Daly Dish’ to launch an extra special range of distinctive bandana bib designs.
Gina and Karol welcomed their son Gene into the world last November. Unphased by the possibility he may have Down Syndrome, the Meath couple were determined to love him all the more if that was to be his path in life.
Now the new parents are delighted to be able to help the Down Syndrome Centre through a charity initiative with baby brand BabyBoo.ie
“Imagine a rainbow with an extra colour, what could be more beautiful?” Gina explained, adding, “This is how we look at our baby Gene's Down Syndrome, and his one extra chromosome that makes him so truly special. He is the most loved, wonderful, little boy and we are blessed to have him in our lives.”
“Gene will need lots of support to reach his full potential as he grows into himself. We are lucky to have access to The Down Syndrome Centre, where children like Gene thrive as a result of the services they provide,” Gina continued.
The Daly Dish cookbook authors Gina and Karol have collaborated with BabyBoo on the design of a range of bandana bibs in two sizes, with a bigger size bib for children with additional needs. A donation of €1 from each of the signature 'Daly Dish' designs will go to The Down Syndrome Centre, and of course Gene will be proud to model them for his many fans.
