First things first - CONGRATS on your gorgeous new arrivals! What an amazing time for you (and we're kind of jealous).

You probably already know that having twins is a LOT of hard work (double the work, in fact) so it is best to be as prepared as possible.

And while your head is probably spinning with all the planning you have to do, we're here to help as best we can.

There are so many essentials you will need for your tiny tots, but we have narrowed down the list to eight truly essential things.

Tick these off your list, and you will have seriously helped towards the day to day organisation of your life with two babas.

1. A Nursing Pillow For Two

We won't lie to you, you are going to seriously have your hands full with two tiny tots - but it will also be the best thing ever. However, you should try and make things easier on yourself where possible, and arming yourself with the right equipment will do just that.

If you choose to nurse your new babies, we suggest you invest in a twin nursing pillow - it is the little things that will make life a WHOLE lot easier.

2. A Nappy Bag

Two little babies means that whenever you leave the house, you will need to bring two of everything with you. From changes of clothing to blankets and the countless nappies in between, the right bag is important. It will need to be large enough to hold all your stuff, without being an actual suitcase or military rugsack.

We recommend looking at the strap of the bag, to ensure that it will be comfortable on your shoulder (look for some padding!)

3. All Of The Essentials - In Bulk.

We're talking about nappies, bottles and babygros, folks. You are going to need A LOT of these things, and we suggest having them before your little duo arrives. Make a list of all the essentials that you'll need multiples of, and stock your nursery with them.

You're going to be exhausted, so your future-self will thank you for stocking up!

4. Two Gorgeous Cribs.

While they may not sleep in one right away, we suggest you have your cribs ready for action in the nursery. Trust us when we tell you that you are not going to feel like going out and buying, then building a crib when your tiny bubs are a few months old.

5. A Buggy For Two

Transporting two babies can be quite the handful, so you should try to get the best buggy possible (it will make all the difference!) Our personal favourite is the Dana For2, by the gorgeous folks at Maxi-Cosi. This glorious stroller can fit two baby car seats and still gets through most doorways so it is perfect for twins.

The Dana For2 offers best-in-class comfort for two babies and it's suitable from birth to 3.5 years, making it quite the investment.

6. A Large Changing Table (With Storage)

We are big fans of changing tables that also serve as a place to store clothes, nappies and other essentials. You might get away with changing your babies on the floor or your bed, but it’s more convenient and easier on your back with a changing table.

7. Double Breast Pump

Feeding two bambinos is a big task, no matter if you're choosing to breast or bottle feed. If you do decide to go down the breast route, then a double pump will slowly become your closest friend and ally.

Pumping your milk will allow for your babies to be fed by other people, giving you the occasional (and well-deserved) break.

8. Double Baby Carrier

A baby carrier for two will be your saviour on days when you just want to free hands! Strap your two cuties in and go about your business like any other day - except you have two tiny humans on your person. Oh, the joys!

Most of all, know this -  there will be tough days and you may get overwhelmed but ultimately, you got this.

Don't forget it may be double the work, but it is also double the reward.
