Birr Outdoor Education Centre

Birr Outdoor Education Centre is equipped to a very high standard with qualified and motivated instructors, a large variety of activities and resources and the experience of over 22 years in this field. They are also one of the few residential outdoor centres that can offer sole occupancy for your school or college trips which brings huge benefits for everyone. They are a non profit making business affiliated to the Department of Education and Science and under the auspices of County Offaly VEC. It is mandatory for all the staff to be fully qualified and certified by the relevant governing bodies, be Garda vetted and complete ongoing training courses. Birr Outdoor Education Centre offers outdoor education courses to groups of people from the ages of 8 to 80 years old. They provide accommodation, meals, activities, specialist equipment, laundry facilities and activities. Courses are flexible and programmed to meet the needs of each individual group. Activities include camping, sailing, hill walking, abseiling, rock climbing, team sports and games, gorge walking, boardsailing, mountain navigation, white water canoeing and orienteering.
