The Yeats Country Cycling Tour

One of Ireland’s most famous literary greats, the poet W B Yeats spent in Sligo and is buried under Ben Bulben’s head. Ben Bulben is one of Ireland’s most stunning mountains. Yeats’ poetry was often inspired by the sights of this mountain and also by the picturesque views in the Leitrim. Poems such as Lake Isle of Innisfree and The Sands of Lissadell were both based on the scenery of these parts of the country.
