About

The River Suck flows along the natural border between counties Galway and Roscommon. The Suck River Valley is a 5 mile wide corridor each side of the River Suck, and boasts a population of approximately 8,000. The Suck Valley Tourism Group was set up in 1991, and promotes tourist attractions in the region. Currently the Co-op has 41 shareholders representing farming, business, accommodation providers and community groups within the region. The quiet beauty and natural charm of the green valley is gently reflected in it's "Nine Friendly Villages", Ballygar, Creggs, Glinsk, Ballymoe, Ballintubber, Donamon, Castlecoote, Athleague and Mount Talbot The "Craft Cafe" setting of their Visitor Centre is an ideal place to get full information on the region. Here too, visitors can make holiday bookings, and reservations. A wide range of courses are on offer from the centre. Course subjects include Angling, Crafts, Heritage and Environmental appreciation. A local tour guidance service is also available.
