Castle Christmas Tours with Santa

Dalkey Castle Christmas Tours run on selected dates this December and will get you into the festive spirit. Sing carols, play games, listen to magical Christmas stories with costumed characters and meet Santa. Post your letter in Santa’s special Post box. The tours run on December 9th & 10th and December 16th & 17th. There will be ‘Goodie’ bags for the children (Children must be accompanied by an adult). Early booking is advisable as numbers on each tour are limited.

  

A Merry Medieval Christmas                                                             

Step in to ‘Christmases Past’ in the company of the Medieval Lords and Ladies of Dalkey Castle. They will fascinate you with the secrets of Christmas: the origins of ‘ the Christmas Box’, ‘the Piggy Bank’, ‘Carol Singing’, the wearing of ‘Christmas Holly’, the fruit laden Christmas Tree.

 

Savour the delights of an imaginary Christmas Feast prepared by our own resident Medieval Cook. See her prepare the Mince Pies, Butter and Saffron Basted Goose, traditional Humble Pies (from the umbles of deer), Boar’s Head, Hedgehog Pie, and delicious Frumenty - be sure to stir it and make a wish.

 

It’s Christmas Day every day at Dalkey Castle from November 22nd until the 22nd December with the exception of the dates for Santa Tours as above. Don’t let Christmas pass you by! Great, fun, family day out!
