It’s communion season and time for family fun! Leopardstown Family Fun Raceday featuring the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trials on Sunday, 7^th May is about getting all the family and the community of Dublin together to enjoy racing with lots of free entertainment to keep the kids busy all day. We also hear that special visitors from the outer rim of the Galaxy including Darth Vader and his stormtoopers will be there to meet and greet you - as the force awakens at Leopardstown Racecourse! Once inside the racecourse, a host of free activities is available to keep everyone happy – no matter what the weather! The fully carpeted Family Fun Marquee is accessible to all with seating and it features free activities for the “little ones” from 1pm which include;

The Team from Imaginosity bring you their Interactive Story Telling
Toddler soft play zones
Baby bouncy castles (up to 7 year olds)
Balloon modelling/ Face painting
Magic Show
Long Tall Sally
Stilt Walker
Front Runner Racing club featuring colouring and some fun learning about the sport of racing
Custard Pie Puppet show
Tea/Coffee and light refreshments available in the Marquee
Seating (limited) with TV screens for racing

Outside In the enclosure, activities for older children include:

A selection of larger outdoor inflatables for older children
Meet the animals from Wooly Wards Pet Farm
There is also the Clayton Hotel Leopardstown Best Dressed Family – where families are encouraged to wear their communion wear, matching T shirts, fun costumes to be in with a chance to win prizes worth €1000! Don’t forget to visit the Clayton Hotel Leopardstown best Dressed Family Stand in the Marquee.
The day includes seven races on the card with two feature races that all the family can enjoy! See some of Ireland’s top jockeys and horses go head to head in the Group 3 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial Stakes and the Group 3 Derrinstown Stud 1,000 Guineas Trial
