About

The Indian Film Festival of Ireland takes place from 19th – 22nd September. In its fourth year, the festival started off to promote Ireland as the perfect location for films.

However, while the festival has managed to attract a major Indian studio film it hopes “to counter the balance of the Indian film makers [who] are still struggling to operate globally.”

The festival will not only be showing screenings of fantastic Indian films, there will also be discussions with film directors and writers. Films will be screened in Movies@Dundrum and Filmbase in Temple Bar, and a number will also be shown in DCU, Chester Beatty Library and DIT.

Highlights of the festival include The Master which director Shyam Benegal will be attending, Channai Express,  Stanley Ka Dubba for the kids, The Golden Pen and Ek Tha Tiger which is the first Indian film shot in Dublin.
