If you love strawberries, and even if you don’t, you have to head to the Strawberry Festival in Wexford runnning from Tuesday, 17th June until Sunday, 29th June 2014.
The family-friendly festival started over 30 years ago and has become a huge part of the Enniscorthy community since it began.
There will be a whole host of entertainment for the whole family – grannies, mums, dads, teenagers and younger children - including concerts, Traditional Irish music performances, food markets, kids’ events and there will even be a chance to meet the Strawberry Queen.
Highlights include The Strawberry Ball for the adults at Riverside Park Hotel and Leisure Club on Wednesday evening and there will be a Strawberry Youth Ball on Thursday, 19th in The Big Red Barn for teenagers aged between 14 and 18 years old. Not forgetting the younger kids, there be a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on Saturday, 21st June to keep them happy.
Throughout the festival there will be performances by Jimmy Hogan, Lucy Doyle and Eoin Goarke, Jimmi Cullen and Ryan Sheridan to name a few so make sure you put it in your diary.
