Tin Jug Studio

Stepping through the little door in the big green gates, children and adults are delighted to find the courtyard garden and art studio. The name: when the former coach house was converted into a studio and gallery, it was noticed that a fusty old tin jug on a big iron peg and filled with twigs, had managed to stay in place throughout the substantial restoration work. So, with a touch of humour, it was decided to call the intended gallery, 'Tin Jug Studio' (rather than 'The Rusty, Fusty Jug', 'The Auld Kettle', or any other assorted monikers!) But for a number of years this was County Offaly's only art gallery.
