Strokestown Golf Club

The Golf Club is situated about 2km east of Strokestown and about 20km west of Longford, in the townland of Bumlin, along the N5 Dublin- Westport primary route. The club was formed in 1995 and affiliated to the GUI in the same year. In 2001 the club moved to its present location, which is one of the most scenic parkland club's in the West of Ireland. The clubhouse was opened in 2004 and comprises a bar and dining area, kitchen, ladies and gents changing rooms, showers and toilets together with a committee meeting room and office. At the rear of the building is a large car park. The front and side views from the clubhouse are a sight to behold, looking down on the sloping landscape of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd fairways with the beautiful Sliabh Bawn in the distant background.
