Cairn Visitor Centre

The Cairn is situated in Greencastle Inishowen Co. Donegal and since opening in 1999 it has proved to be a popular tourist attraction for coach tours, school groups and day trippers. Owned and managed by singer/songwriter Patsy Cavanagh, The Cairn is noted for its warm welcome to all who visit. Whether you are visiting Inishowen or just living up the road you are very welcome to an "afternoon with a difference" in The Cairn. On arrival relax with tea and freshly baked scones, view the Yesterday in Inishowen displays or browse in the gift area. Then come on a conducted Ireland Through the Ages Tour and meet all the different races of people who have shaped this country. From the First Farmer to the recent past this tour brings their culture to life through lighting, voiceover, life size figures and miniature diorama of Irish countryside. After your tour sit back and enjoy a session of song and story during which you the visitor are very welcome to share a song or story or indeed to lead the floor.
