Kilmainham Gaol Dublin

The Gaol was built in 1792. It has held some of Irelands most famous Nationalists and Republicans and the leaders of the 1916 rising were executed here. There are guided tours and exhibitions available however this is a very popular site for tourists and is likely to be very busy during the summer months. Opening hours: April to September, 9.30am-6pm daily, October to March, Monday to Saturday, 9.30am-5.30pm and Sundays 10am to 6pm.
