Enjoy a walk at Glendalough

Get out and about this weekend and take the kids to visit one of the most beautiful places in Ireland.

 

The Glendalough Valley is located in the Wicklow Mountains National Park and it has spectacular scenery, a rich history and an abundance of wildlife that the whole family will enjoy.

 

Home to two beautiful lakes, it is not surprising the area is well known as “the valley of two lakes”. Trails vary in terms of how hard they are so stick to the easier ones if you have little walkers.

 

It’s not all about walking though as one of the most important monastic sites in Ireland is located there.  Make sure you visit the Round Tower and indulge your kids in some Irish history.

 

Bring a picnic, wrap up well and enjoy your family day out.
