Leacanabuaile Stone Fort

This stone fort has walls that are 10ft thick and inside there are three beehive houses with a square house in the middle. There are also souterrains that were used for refuge during times of trouble. The fort was excavated in 1939 and inside the fort many objects were found including iron, bronze, lead, bones and stones that could date back to the 9th century.
