About
Standing stones are believed to mark location where great events took place. This standing stone is thought to represent the legendary hero of Irish folklore Cúchulainn. According to legend Cuchulann was fatally injured when he defended Ulster against the forces of Queen Maeve of Connacht but tied himself to this stone so that he could stay upright for battle.
