Farney Castle

This castle is the only Round Tower that is used as a family home in Ireland. The castle was built in 1185 and the present tower was built in 1495 by Thomas Butler. The castle is home to the Irish designer Cyril Cullen and here he produces his famous handmade knitwear designs and fine porcelain objects which are sold in the castle’s shop. There are daily tours of the Castle available.
