They meet every morning at the same time and place for the two hour walk. Beautiful scenery, mountains, lakes and woods; some by old landlord houses with lovely gardens. They walk through woodland, parkland, along the lake shore and the river walk. In fact just about wherever you and your feet want to go!! Visit ancient places like the old copper mines (dating back 4000 years), 6th century monastery ruins on Innisfallen Island or the 15th Century Ross Castle. See where Brother Cudda slept for 200 years, where Queen Victoria visited in 1861 and where President De Gaulle of France stayed in 1969. Also, in the same year, where part of the award winning Ryan's Daughter (starring Robert Mitchum) was filmed. See the native red deer or the Japanese Sika introduced here in the mid 19th Century. Unusual trees here are the arbutus (Strawberry Tree) fuscia and Monte Rey Pines. You might see the rare Kerry cow on your walk (brought to Ireland by the Celts). In season, you will also see abundant local flora including wild mint, garlic and myrtle.
