Colligan Wood

Colligan Wood is perfect for walkers who enjoy pretty scenery as well as a range of flora and fauna. The trail takes walkers through this lovely woodland and along the valley of Colligan River. There is a wide variety of trees including Old Scots pine, birch, oak, beech, ash, spruce and larch. Deer and red squirrels can be seen in the wood. There is a car park close by and a picnic site. Carey’s Castle is in the woodland and there is a lovely 600m walking path that follows the river bank.
