Shane Long and his wife Kayleah welcomed their third child at the start of the month, after a difficult birth.

And following a week-long stay in hospital, the Long family are no doubt delighted to be able to bring their only son, Jax, home.

Taking to Twitter yesterday to share the wonderful news that their newborn had been discharged, the footballer uploaded a black and white snap of his youngster, writing: “Look who's home!”

It has been no secret that little Jax had a dramatic entrance into the world.

When Kayleah, who is also mum to six-year-old Teigan and two-year-old Erin, announced her son’s birth she took to Instagram to explain that he had to be rushed to the care unit straight away.

“Our little warrior Jax made his appearance yesterday but was rushed straight to the care unit,” Kayleah told followers.

“But he is on the mend after 24 hours and his sisters finally got their hands on him today.”

Thankful to have her son home, the mum-of-three also took to Instagram to share her joy at having all three of her children together.

"Big sisters first cuddles at home. Daddy's first bottle feed. First pic at home of all 3 of our babies together at last."

Aw, we're delighted for the family!
