This weekend wasn’t a typical bank holiday shift for firefighters out in Swords.

Getting a call to help a woman in labour, the Dublin Fire Brigade ambulance crew set out to bring these parent-to-be to their delivery ward, but things didn't go quite as expected.

While still on the road to Dublin’s Rotunda Hospital, Baby Eva decided she was ready to meet her parents and started to arrive there and then.

Firefighter paramedics Barry Holohan and Steve McNally soon set to work delivering this gorgeous baby girl in the back of their ambulance.

Both Eva and her proud mum are said to be doing well and Swords fire station said the new parents were more than happy to share their story with the world,

Looks like this baby girl will have an interesting story to tell people when she gets older…
