If you've been hunting for an Easter activity that doesn't involve softplay, sugar crashes or losing the will to live in a shopping centre, Luggwoods might just be the answer to your prayers. The much-loved family attraction in the Dublin Mountains is bringing back its Enchanted Easter Forest experience, and it sounds like the kind of wholesome, outdoor magic we could all use right about now.
The experience kicks off on March 28th and runs through to April 6th. Ninety minutes of woodland adventure, train rides and chocolate eggs. No queuing in Smyths. No negotiating screen time. Just actual fresh air and actual bunnies.
What's involved?
Little ones will follow the Easter Spring Trail through the forest, meeting a cast of woodland characters along the way. These characters share clues to help the mysterious Egg Professor crack the code of the Great Easter Puzzle. It's interactive, it's outdoors, and it gives the kids something to actually do rather than just look at things.
Then comes the Luggwoods Eggspress Train, which winds through the forest to the Easter Village. At the village, children get to meet the Easter Bunny at his burrow and receive a chocolate egg. Because what's Easter without a chocolate egg handed to you by an actual bunny?

Broadcaster Glenda Gilson helped launch the event this week with her sons Bobby and Danny in tow, along with a group of other young explorers. Looking at the photos, the setup is properly festive. Think hay bales, pastel eggs, spring flowers everywhere and some very photogenic backdrops.

The extras
Beyond the trail and the train, families can add on a trip to the minifarm or have a spin on the teacups. And yes, the whole thing is dog-friendly. So if you've got a four-legged family member who refuses to be left behind, they can come along too.

Luggwoods is nestled in natural forest just outside Saggart Village in south Dublin. It's been running since 2015 and has become a bit of a go-to for families who want seasonal experiences that feel genuinely thought-out rather than thrown together. The team also supports Barretstown Children's Charity through their Wishing Well on site.
Tickets and booking
Tickets are priced from €15.95 for adults and €22.95 for children. Carers pay €10.95, and children under one go free. You'll need to book in advance through their website at www.luggwoodsevents.com.
With Easter weekend fast approaching, this could be a solid option for getting everyone out of the house without the usual chaos. Fresh air, chocolate and a train through the woods? Sounds like a win.
