We all know just how busy being a mum is and how easy it is to give up on hobbies or activities that we did in our pre-baby days. However, for one mum in the UK, rather than give up her passion for running she decided to include her young son!

32-year-old Jessica Bruce signed up to the Abingdon marathon shortly after the birth of her first child, and rather than leave him at home on the big day she brought him along for the ride, going on to break a world record at the same time.

The mum-of-one ran the race pushing little Daniel in his pram and completed it in an incredible three hours, 17 minutes and 52 seconds. However, her son was not really aware of what was going on, as he slept most of the way!

“Daniel was absolutely brilliant. He slept until about 20 miles and was then just looking around."

While she didn’t need to stop and use her packed puncture repair kit or the spare nappy, Jessica’s husband, David, who was running alongside them, managed to give the little boy a bottle during the race.

"We didn't stop. We had a nappy change and a puncture repair kit with us but we didn’t need it," she said.

Explaining that despite the course being pretty flat, Jessica did most of her training on hilly routes as pushing a pram whilst running is “very tiring”.

The previous Guinness World Record was held by a female who pushed a pram for three hours, 31 minutes and 45 seconds.

This is incredible; well done to Jessica on her amazing accomplishment!
