Every now and then, a powerful image comes along that just stops us in our tracks, and the following one – shared to the Breastfeeding Mama Talk Facebook page – certainly falls under that category.

Mum Anastasia Pittis has touched hearts and minds the world over this week, after sharing a photo of herself nursing her six-month-old daughter, Xenia, who has cancer.

Little Xenia was born with stage 3 cancer, and, as you can see from the photo, has undergone surgery on her brain.

Breastfeeding the tot through her treatment has offered Anastasia the chance to comfort her little one through the ordeal.

“I am incredibly happy to have the opportunity to breastfeed her while she goes through chemotherapy. It has been a bonding experience for the both of us, especially because no day is guaranteed,” wrote Anastasia.

As you can imagine, the community rallied around Anastasia, sending their messages of support and love to her and little Xenia.

Touched by the unexpected response to her post, she wrote – on Xenia’s official page: “Thank you for following my daughter’s journey and supporting us through this difficult time. Much love to you all.”

We’re sending prayers to the family, especially little Xenia.
