Despite the fact that it’s a personal choice and research has proven that breastfeeding is amazing for our babies, nursing in public has proven to be a divisive subject in recent times. For every negative story, however, there is a positive - and this latest one is a particular favourite of ours.

A mum in the States has shared her delight after being ‘thanked’ by a young student for breastfeeding in public.

Mum Katy got in touch with the ‘Peaceful Parenting’ Facebook page to share a photo of the gift card and note she was recently presented with while out with her baby and a friend.

“My friends and I were at Chipotle today and it was packed with students from a nearby college. One girl ran over, dropped this on the table, smiled and walked out the door,” she wrote.

In the accompanying photo, the gift card’s note read: “Thank you for breastfeeding in public – helping reduce the stigma for future mums like me. You rock!”

Katy was ‘amazed’ by the wonderful gesture and just had to share it online, to prove what a positive impact public nursing is having on the future generation of mothers.

What a gorgeous idea!
