Unfortunately, we’ve had to write too many stories about breastfeeding mums receiving abuse for doing so in public.
Well, today we are happy to share with you a heartwarming story of a stranger’s response to this mum feeding her baby.
Yesterday, Briar Lusia McQueen went to get breakfast with her baby son, the first time she had done so by herself.
And just after her food arrived, her son Jaxon started to cry.
Posting on Facebook, Briar said:
“I had just received my breakfast and hot chocolate when Jaxon started crying wanting his booby so of course I fed him”
A few minutes later, the pair were approached by an older lady and Briar worried this was going to be another story of public breastfeeding shaming.
“I was scared, thinking she was gonna tell me to put my boob away, instead she starts cutting up my breakfast for me and said "what a good mama you are, we can't have your food getting cold can we".”
The woman instead surprised the mum by cutting up her food and making sure she got to enjoy her meal.
Briar was touched by this woman’s act of kindness saying:
“I honestly could have cried, loveliest lady EVER!!”
This mum’s post has now gone viral with hundreds of thousands of people liking and showing their appreciation for what this good-hearted stranger did.
Proof that it doesn’t have to be a big gesture, just a kind one.
