We recently reported on how one stranger’s act of kindness give a cancer sufferer a boost, and now we have another story to share, this time coming from Australia.

After spending a number of days in hospital with her nine-week-old baby boy, one mother, who has withheld her name, was unsurprisingly distraught when she arrived in the car park to see she had been issued with a parking ticket.

However, when she opened the envelope with her fine, the mother was stunned to find a handwritten note inside explaining that it had been paid. The note which was from a lady named Laura read: “Hi there, I saw your car had a parking ticket on it, I’m sure whatever you are going through at hospital is tough enough. So I have paid for you.”

The unnamed mum took to the Canberra Mums Facebook page to share the wonderful gesture, writing: “Over the past few days I have been in hospital with my 9 week old son. We were discharged today and as I walked to my car I noticed that I had a parking ticket. After those days in hospital, a parking ticket was one more thing that I didn't need. Well to my surprise, when I opened the envelope there was a note from a lovely lady named Laura (attached). I hope that Laura sees this and knows how much I appreciate her support. Thank you so much [sic].”
