A woman who narrowly escaped the Grenfell Tower fire at three months pregnant has revealed she gave birth to possibly the disaster’s youngest survivor.

The tragedy claimed the lives of 71 people after a fire blazed through the West London tower block.

Speaking to The Mirror, Maryam Adam and her husband, Abdulwahad said they were asleep in their fourth floor flat when the fire began and that they were one of the first to escape the building.

Having previously suffered two miscarriages, she said she feared losing her now three-month-old son Mohammed due to the traumatic experience of the fire and losing her home and many of her close friends.

We lost our home, we lost friends, we lost everything,” she said. “I was so worried I was going to have another miscarriage. We saw everything. I had many friends there.”

However, though she's still trying to come to terms with the tragic events of that day, she said the one shining light was her 'miracle' baby boy. He gave her and her husband a reason to be positive again, she said.

“He is a miracle," she said. "When I first saw his face I was so, so happy. I think he is the youngest survivor. I will tell him when he is older - I will tell him to thank God that he’s alive."

Just look at how adorable he is!

The tot was born in November last year.
