Owner of Amhain Creations, Valerie Coleman, came up with the idea of starting her own business one Christmas when her knitted gifts for friends and family were such a hit. She set up a stall at a local craft fair and Amhain Creations was born. According to Valerie, she dislikes churning out products that are all the same and has adopted the practice of only creating one of each item. This ethos of no two items being the same is the inspiration for the company name Amhain (pronounced A-wah-in) which is the Irish for ‘one’. Valerie now produces a range of unique handmade items using a variety of wools and fabrics. Her mission statement is "To put colour into the world" and she certainly does that. Her products include: baby and toddler clothes, wraps, shrugs, scarves, hats, cushions, blankets, aprons and bags
We love her quirky designs and the uniqueness of her range. In a world of homogeneity it is so refreshing to find fun product that will set you apart, both in your home, or when you and the kids wear them. Valerie's products would make lovely gifts and she also takes commissions and is happy chat with you about your own quirky visions!
