I think all our jaws dropped when Amanda Seyfried hit the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday night.

Maybe it’s the fact that we haven’t gotten to dress up in a while. Maybe it’s that we’re living vicariously through these stunning celebs with their perfect hair and makeup while we sit at home in pyjamas with our roots so grown out we’re not even sure what colour our hair is anymore.

Either way, the Oscars were a welcome bit of glamour into our lives and gave a lot of us major inspo for when we are let out again to live our best lives. Not that any of us are going to be rocking up to the beer garden in an Armani or Louis Vuitton (as much as we might want to), but it was so lovely to see a bit of style and new ideas for a change.

And Amanda Seyfried’s makeup has definitely inspired us to try recreate it once we have an occasion to wear the full glam look. The actress stunned at the 93rd Annual Academy Awards, but that’s unsurprising given that she is Lancôme’s brand ambassador for all things beauty.

Nominated for ‘Best Performance by an Actress in a supporting Role for her role as Marion Davies in ‘Mank’, which follows a troubled screenwriter’s journey to completing his script that would eventually become the world-renowned ‘Citizen Kane’ film. The actress stepped onto the carpet in a jaw-dropping Armani Privé dress that was a fit and flare, highlighting her insane figure. The bright red played up her pale complexion and her makeup by celebrity Makeup Artist Genevieve Herr complemented the super dramatic, feminine, glowing look.

When speaking about her inspiration for this look, Genevieve said, “The glorious red tulle of Amanda’s gown, with its combination of classic and modern architecture, inspired me to use a bold, complementary colour on her lips, while choosing warm colours and bright highlights on her eyes.”

She shared her tips and trips and the products she used to get Amanda’s flawless, luminous look and how we can recreate it at home.

Skin

Amanda used Lancôme NEW Clarifique Face Essence the night prior and morning-of on her face and neck for extra hydration, radiance and smooth skin texture. Then Amanda used the Lancôme Advanced Génifique Serum, which melts into the skin for hydration and a smooth canvas for makeup application.

As the last step of prep, Genevieve applied Lancôme Prep & Hydrate Primer all over Amanda’s face for a flawless finish for all-night staying power.

Face

Next, she applied Lancôme Teint Miracle Radiant Foundation with a damp sponge and used a lighter shade of the Teint Idôle Ultra Makeup Stick as concealer where needed. Genevieve then shaded and contoured Amanda’s cheekbones, jawline and nose with a darker shade of Lancôme NEW Teint Idôle Ultra Makeup Stick and blended with the built-in kabuki brush.

To highlight the cheekbones, she applied Lancôme Dual Finish Highlighter in Luminous Gold and dusted it on the high points of the face where the light would naturally hit for an all over glow. Genevieve used a touch of Lancôme Blush Subtil in Blushing Trésor on her fingers and blended it on the apples of the cheeks for a hint of colour.

Eyes

Genevieve lined Amanda’s upper lash line with Lancôme Le Crayon Khôl in Black Coffee, taking it from the inner corner to the outer edge, softening the line to create a subtle smoky effect. To set the line, she used shade #5 (dark brown) from the Lancôme Hypnôse 5-Color Eyeshadow Palette in Rose Fusion and blended it across the lash line.

On the lids, she added shade #3 (cranberry shimmer) from the palette for a rose flush. Next, Genevieve curled Amanda’s lashes and started with Lancôme Définicils High Definition Lengthening Mascara and re-coated the lashes with Lancôme Monsieur Big Volumizing Mascara for added drama on the red carpet.

Lips

To finish the look, Genevieve lined Amanda’s lips with Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Rose Lancôme and then applied NEW Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge Drama Ink in Nuit Pourpre - launches in August - for a pop of colour.
