There is nothing like gorgeous nails to make you feel good but, unfortuately, brittle nails can be a pretty common beauty problem. Not particularly attractive, many of us suffer from them at least once in our lives.  There are a number of different reasons why you might suffer from them including an iron deficiency, dehydration, using too much nail polish or constantly picking at them.
 
Thankfully, here are a number of things you can do to make them stronger and more durable:
 
Use coconut oil
Rub a little coconut oil onto your nails and let it sink in. Leave your nails clear and free of nail polish to give the oil a chance to soak in.
 
Rub in a little vitamin E
You can pick up plenty of hand lotions with vitamin E in any store or, alternatively, pierce a vitamin E capsule and massage it into your nails.
 
Lemon juice
Rub a little lemon juice on to your nails. Not only will this give them a much-needed boost, it will also help reduce or even get rid of any discolouration.
 
Keep them short
If they are prone to splitting, keep your nails short and trimmed.
 
Stop using nail polish
Remove any polish and keep your nails free of it for at least three months to help them get back to their former self.
