Grout is used to secure tiles to walls and floors but, unfortunately, the lines between each tile can pick up dirt and grime and are a right pain to clean!

However, rather than allowing it to just get worse, why not give these three cleaning tips a go – they are sure to be sparkling in no time.

Baking soda

Simply mix baking soda with water until it forms a thick paste. After you’ve given your tiles a once over with a clean cloth, spread the paste onto the white lines. Leave for about ten minutes before scrubbing it off with an old toothbrush. Once it’s clean, rinse the paste off.

Bleach and water

Dilute a small amount of bleach in water and wipe it along the grout lines with a clean cloth. Make sure you rinse the walls or the floor down properly once you’re done. Also remember to watch your clothes as the mix will stain.

Cif

From runners to counters, Cif is great at returning whites to their former glory. For it to be effective on your grout,  simply scrub it lightly onto the grout using an old toothbrush, before wiping it away with a clean, damp cloth.

Remember to always test in an inconspicuous area first to be on the safe side.
