Is it teething time for your little one?
Spice up your mealtimes with this Irish familys hot sauce recipes

After almost a full year of restaurants being closed and making meals for ourselves, we’re all getting a little sick of our own cooking. We make the same meals, buy the same foods and make them same old meal plans every week.

We’re all craving a little variety and spice in our lives to add a little extra kick to our meal times and some excitement to our routines!

The Grillshack Original Hot sauce, made locally in Co Kildare, is the perfect dash of added spice for hot sauce lovers!

The Irish label has been chosen as one Aldi’s ‘Grow Programme’ participants, along with fifty other small Irish producers, giving them the chance to launch their business to the entire nation! With an emphasis on clean labels, flavour and sustainability, we’re not surprised their flavoursome and innovative product been chosen for this amazing opportunity.

With lots of options from ‘medium’ heat to ‘eye-watering-nose-running’ heat for super intense spicy flavours, The Grillshack’s Original Hot Sauce has a flavour for every palette! Hot sauce is experiencing a real moment in the foodie world right now, with the trending product becoming increasingly popular in Irish households.

And the Grillshack’s Hot Sauce has something totally different to offer spice lovers, meaning their sauce stands out as a winner in the spice market; A rich and creamy texture means that the hints of garlic, onion, zesty lemon and of course heat burst through the spice with just a shake and pour over your food!

And what’s more, a little spice in your diet is actually good for you! A major health booster, spice from chilis can release endorphins which can improve your mood and the peppers used in Grillshack’s recipe are full of colours, antioxidants and vitamin C, meaning you’re livening up every meal when you use Grillshack’s Hot Sauce.

Of course, everyone’s tolerance for spice is different, so start off medium and increase the heat gradually until you find your perfect spice level, trying out medium (Original) or hot (triple x). Level up every meal with just a dash of flavour and heat to light up your taste buds!

The Grillshack Original Hot sauce is all natural with no added sugar - so splash some on your eggs, liven up your bolognaise, toss it through your stir fry – the options are unlimited! The Grillshack Original Hot sauce is Gluten free, low in saturated fat, low in salt and what’s best, it’s vegan!

You’ll need…

Locally sourced chicken wings

1tsp cayenne pepper

150g plain flour

1tsp paprika

Salt and pepper

1tsp dried garlic

Rapeseed oil

  1. In a large bowl, add in your flour and follow with your locally sourced chicken wings.
  2. Season with cayenne pepper, paprika, salt and pepper and dried garlic and toss chicken wings to fully coat them with all the flour and seasoning to lock that flavour in.
  3. Place the chicken wings into a baking tray – being sure to leave any excess flour behind in the bowl – and drizzle with rapeseed oil for a little extra crispiness.
  4. Cover with tinfoil to lock the moisture in and cook at 180-200C for 20 minutes.
  5. Remove from the oven and baking tray, and place into a clean bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of Grillshack Original Hot Sauce for a little extra kick and serve with a stunning blue cheese sauce – a crowd pleaser every time!
