Last year we were collectively outraged after a news report claimed that a stranger had pulled a dummy out of a child's mouth proclaiming they were too old for them.

The child's mother was interviewed saying it was equally humiliating and blood-boiling... and we can understand why.

But now, according to a report in the Telegrapha two-year-old girl was slapped in the face by a stranger who told her mum that the toddler should be in her buggy.

Police officers in Northamptonshire are investigating after reports of the incident which happened outside Waitrose supermarket car park in Kingsthorpe.

It is alleged that the woman, who was in her 60s, picked up the child and placed her forcibly into the pram before slapping the child's face when the two-year-old began to cry.

It is believed that the woman then walked off.

Police say that the attack happened on the morning of Thursday, April 27th. The suspect is described as white, about 5ft 4in with a slim build and long, dark hair.

They are now appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Such incidents as this beg the question of why strangers feel the need to interfere in other people's parenting methods?

Unless a child is in danger, we feel that parenting should be left to the parent.

What do you think? Have you ever experienced an incident where a stranger stepped in to tell you how best to do something for your child?
