I’m all about up cycling and recycling when it comes to arts and crafts and what better way to recycle your HB Icecream sticks than to make them into pretty summer bracelets to brighten up any outfit.

What you need:

Ice Cream Sticks
Long Glass/Small Plate
Water
Coloured Twine/Wool

Method:
  1. First you need to place all of your ice cream sticks into a tall glass of warm water and cover with a small plate and leave to soak over night to soften the sticks. I used large ice cream sticks but you can also use the normal ones.
  2. The next day begin by gently bending each stick in your hand, you are trying to soften it up to make it more flexible. Don’t worry if a few of them snap, I snapped a few too, you have to be very gentle.
  3. Once you think your stick is nice and bendy, curl it into a semi circle shape and place inside a normal tumbler glass and leave over night to take shape.
  4. Decorate your bracelet by wrapping different coloured twine or wool around it.
  5. Use a piece of tape to cover the messy ends on the back side.
  6. Use a knife or the top of a small scissors to make a hole on either end on the stick. Don’t worry if it snaps, it make it easier to thread through the twine.
  7. Thread a piece of twine through either end and tie a knot on the outside
